Volunteer with Neighbors
for Better Neighborhoods
There are many ways to volunteer with Neighbors for Better Neighborhoods (NBN). From supporting neighborhood organizing and youth programs to helping at community events or assisting in our office, we invite you to share your time and talents to help strengthen neighborhoods across Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.
Becoming a volunteer
Is one of the most meaningful ways individuals and groups can serve alongside NBN.
Our volunteers contribute to projects that build equity, leadership, and community resilience. Whether you enjoy connecting with neighbors, supporting youth, or working behind the scenes, there’s a place for you here.
General Support Volunteers
Here at Neighbors for Better Neighborhood, North Carolina's original hospice and palliative care provider, volunteers assist us in numerous ways. See the list below for some other ways our volunteers help us!
Health Disparities Collaborative
Support efforts that address barriers to health and well-being in our neighborhoods. Volunteers may help with outreach, connect residents to resources, and assist in events that raise awareness and promote equitable health outcomes.
Organizer’s Circle
Work alongside community organizers and resident leaders as they build power in their neighborhoods. Volunteers can assist with meeting coordination, canvassing, and providing logistical support for grassroots campaigns.
Racial Equity Training
Help advance equity and justice by supporting our Racial Equity Institute trainings and workshops. Volunteers assist with logistics, participant support, and creating a welcoming environment for deep learning and dialogue.
Resident Health Connectors
Partner with local health advocates who connect residents to care. Volunteers may help with information sharing, community outreach, and supporting neighborhood-based health education events.
Resident Leaders Initiative
Partner with local health advocates who connect residents to care. Volunteers may help with information sharing, community outreach, and supporting neighborhood-based health education events.
Grassroots Grants
Assist our grantmaking process that invests directly in neighborhoods. Volunteers may help with application support, community outreach, or logistics for information sessions and award events.
