 Neighbors for Better Neighborhoods has been organizing for over 26 years in communities across Winston Salem and provides the best practices from expert facilitators. Neighbors for Better Neighborhood extends this opportunity to investigate and learn the process of Community Development. Community - Development means that a community engaged in a process aimed at improving the social, economic and environmental situations of community.


In this training, you will briefly explore:

  • The meaning and principles of Community Development
  • What it takes to become a robust community 
  • Community Mapping  
  • Why are communities called, "Bad" or "Good" neighborhoods? 
  • How to conduct a Visioning Session to develop an equitable community plan 
  • Ways to engage residents and stakeholders to decrease gentrification  

The workshop is an awesome way to establish a good foundation in community organizing and equitable community development. Meals and snacks provided with registration.
