Frequently Asked Questions

Will I get any training before I start?

Absolutely. Resident Organizers receive training at the beginning of their internship, as well as on-going and project-specific training during their involvement with NBN.


What skills do I need to have?

Resident Organizers must have strong communication, writing, and computer skills.  You also need the ability to bring people together focusing on a shared goal; conflict management, and group dynamic skills.


Who is eligible?

NBN’s Resident Organizer Program is open to all U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent resident aliens age 21 and older who live in the Boston-Thurmond or Place Matters neighborhoods.

 

Do I get paid?

Resident Organizer receive $6,000 for a year of service, with a minimum of 10 hours per week and are allowed to attend all of NBN's leadership and Community Development training at no cost..
